A social service worker for decades my favourite professional roles have been child and family counsellor, and for multiple municipalities, child and youth director.
Social/ emotional recreation is a passion of mine because it is so versatile in its delivery and it impacts seamlessly through play. I am a book worm, love a great song, windows open and i'm usually on the beach or in the woods. Cliche maybe, but I do believe children to be our most valuable resource and time spent in support of them feels better spent than anywhere else.

Grounding practices are known to support regulation, body awareness, and emotional balance; however, environmental conditions in Ontario can make consistent outdoor access challenging.

Through the generous sponsorship of
Earthing Canada, grounding mats, adaptors, and testing equipment have been integrated into our programming to ensure safe, effective, and consistent access to grounding practices year-round. This partnership enhances lesson integration and expands children’s opportunities to experience regulation, connection, and embodied learning across seasons.

We are thankful to gather on the land of the Anishinaabeg—the Chippewa, Odawa, and Potawatomi—as well as the Delaware (Lunaapeew) Nation. These Nations have cared for the land and water here for countless generations, and we honour their enduring presence, culture, and traditions.
As we play, learn, and grow together, we remember to walk gently and with gratitude. The Anishinaabe people share the Seven Grandfather Teachings—Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth—which guide us in living in balance with the earth and with one another.
Inspired by these teachings, we nurture children’s growth in kindness, safety, and joy, so that future generations may continue to thrive here in connection to land, water, and community.
